'Does your Soul Sing?'

In Luke 1: 46, Mary, the mother of The Lord Jesus exclaims: 'My soul magnifies/glorifies The Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour'. This is during her pregnancy as she continues to treasure and learn more of the astounding news that she is to carry the Son of God in her womb and give birth to Him.
Pretty much anyone can sing a song or make a statement. The quality of the utterance may differ but most people are able to essentially make some noise!
BUT...
Does my soul sing? Does your soul sing?
I am challenged by Mary's words in Luke 1: 46.
Worship is beyond words. Worship is a constant choice. Will we sin or will we worship?
We need to ask for The Holy Spirit's help regularly each day that we will choose right: that we will choose to worship.
In terms of our songs of worship...
Do we sing the same privately to The Lord as we do in public? Do we sing to Him in private at all? Do we love the music more than we love to worship Him? Do we love to sing more than we love The King of kings?
Recently, I have found it helpful to pop my headphones in and listen to some songs of worship and not sing a word but simply think about the words and experience my soul singing without me saying a word. These have been precious times with The Lord that I hope to make a regular part of my daily life and are one way of challenging myself with the message I am bringing you today.
There is no judgement in my words but there is challenge. Challenge to you and challenge to myself. Let's ask The Holy Spirit to increasingly shed our old skin of sin as we increasingly learn more of how our Lord Jesus has clothed us in His righteousness, that we would worship Him in spirit and in truth through our songs and every breath, thought, word and action.
Happy Christmas from all of us in the worldwide LHM family and may our souls, not just our lips praise Him in every way every day with Him as our only god, the One True God, Holy Triune God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
