We are very humbled to belong to a huge family spread across many nations of the world, here is the monthly thought for May.
It is VE Day in Europe. It is a day to remember so many who gave their lives to overthrow Nazism and Fascism.
It is the day when a new Pope has been appointed for the huge number of Catholics in our world.
It is a day when an unusual trade deal has been struck between the USA and the UK.
All these events have come on the same day.
However it is a day when we are aware of war in Gaza and the Ukraine.
We also see great tension between India and Pakistan. Please pray for the willingness to seek peace and not war.
We see ongoing issues in Sudan and people recovering from an earthquake in Myanmar.
It is a day to reflect on unspeakable evil as people suffer from horrendous abuse, torture and for many believers, persecution.
It is a day for the Gospel of the kingdom to be preached as never before.
The victory of Jesus is the greatest victory as death, sin, Satan and hell are all under His feet. (Matthew 24 v.14). We acknowledge that Jesus has been exalted to the highest place and at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow and confess He is Lord (Philippians 2v.5-11).
We are grateful for every material blessing but our hope is not in this world but in Christ and our relationship with Him.
Let us pray,
”Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”
Matthew 6v.9-10
