Annual Ministry Trip to Tanzania

At the end of May an LHM team will be visiting Tanzania to encourage pastors and leaders there. The trip, running from late May to mid-June, includes seminars in five locations where pastors from diverse churches will gather for teaching on the book of Esther.

In person visits like this have been a part of LHM's ministry since it began and Tanzania was one of the first few countries visited in the early days of LHM.

Equipping Leaders, Building Unity

The seminars are part of LHM’s goal to strengthen the church by bringing pastors and leaders together to share in studying the word of God.

David and Jane Bowden will travel from the UK to Kilimanjaro airport and will meet up with Bishop William Msuya who has been a long standing partner of LHM in Tanzania. William also works with Richard Brunton to produce Swahili language radio programmes on a regular basis.

Under Bishop William's local leadership the locations for the seminars are not in the usual big population centres where visiting ministries often go. Rather the team travel into some less well visited places to encourage pastors and leaders doing vital work among people who are just as important to the heart of God. In this way we hope to encourage and strengthen these leaders.

Language translation

Many of the attendees do not speak English fluently so the talks are interpreted into Swahili. Notes are also prepared beforehand, translated in Swahili and printed copies are handed out to each delegate who signs into the seminars.

This year these Swahili notes, along with some additional Swahili language resources, are also being made available to read and to download from the LHM website. We trust that this will extend the reach of the teaching and introduce the website as a resource for additional Swahili language materials to those we meet.

Prayer at the Centre

These are this year's meeting centres in Northern Tanzania:

  • Magugu

  • Katesh

  • Dirma

  • Mbulu

  • Leguruki

You can help with this mission and others like it!

With around 35 teaching sessions ahead, possibly 1000 people attending, and over 600 miles of travel, there is a need for prayer: for health, safety, smooth logistics, and above all that everyone who comes may have a life changing encounter with our God.
