In a recent lesson on the LHM Monday Bible Course, Pastor Richard was speaking on the book of Esther and felt urged to ask the students (and others) to respond to the teaching by praying and fasting (as they feel led) on 23/2/26 as they stretch out to The Lord for the sake of the world.
Esther 4: 16 says: “Go, gather all the Jews to be found in Susa, and hold a fast on my behalf, and do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my young women will also fast as you do. Then I will go to the king, though it is against the law, and if I perish, I perish.”
Queen Esther has a risky request to bring before the king and asks for others to join her in fasting as the matter she will request is very relevant to them.
We know that The Lord Jesus taught us to pray and fast privately so that people do not do it to impress people but in addition to those private times, it is good for families, groups, churches etc. to join together in praying and fasting to collectively honour Him in this way.
Pastor Richard and Pastor Steve will be giving up at least one meal every Friday from now onwards to fast (and pray some more) in response to the desperate needs of the world (especially the countries LHM are connected with).
Would you like to join us in some way each Friday?
Maybe you might give up one cup of tea, coffee or equivalent each Friday to spend a few minutes praying for this world that desperately needs to accept and honour The Lord?
Maybe you have health issues that mean you should not give up any food or drink that day but you may be able to give 15 minutes of your day to praying as described?
As Esther reached out to others in a great time of need, we reach out to you in a time of even greater need.
Please prayerfully consider joining us in some way each week (or some weeks) and please note that there will be one headline to particularly pray for on our Facebook page each Friday morning and our First Friday Prayer Letters and Laser Prayer Focus Letters keep you VERY informed. Let us know if you would like to subscribe to them .
Thank you for reading.
God bless you.
Pastor Steve and Pastor Richard
